- Biography
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Currently, my primary focus is teaching. I have been teaching various courses at different institutions for over five years. Courses that I have taught or am currently teaching at Georgia State, Perimeter College include Introduction to General Psychology, Introduction to Psychology of Adjustment and The Legal Environment of Business. Other courses that I have previously taught are Ethics, Business Law, Contemporary Business Law and Psychology and the Legal System. My current interests are regarding the psychology of religion and how religious thought can influence personal and governmental decisions.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa distinction, and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Fisk University. Upon earning my Master of Arts degree, I worked for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice from 1998 until 2001 serving Georgia’s youth and their families. I earned a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degree from Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University in 2004. I thoroughly enjoy working with students at Perimeter College and aspire to effectively teach and aid them to accomplish their educational and career goals.
