Academic Initiatives
Alpha Beta Gamma is an International Business Honor Society established in 1970 to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students in business curricula. It provides leadership opportunities and forums for the exchange of ideas. Alpha Beta Gamma is the sole business honor society for accredited junior, community and technical two-year colleges. Accounting, Business, Law, and Economics Society (ABLE): The purpose of the ABLE (Accounting, Business, Law and Economics) Society on the Newton Campus is to keep students active and engaged in the business world around them. Through activity and community involvement, students can achieve greater usefulness and increased interest and gain an enhanced knowledge of their world and environment. The club seeks to promote an improved awareness in community, government and world events through efficacious thought, debate and the exertion of business concepts through application and example. ABLE hosts events for Business and other students, featuring speakers from the local community, the extended business community and the legal system. Activities include a business development planning and preparation presentation and an entrepreneurship series that features alumni engaged in successful businesses in the region.
Decatur Business Club: serves as a link between classroom academics and practical business applications while focusing on club members’ professional interests and personal experiences. Club activities include the exploration of business professionals across industries, career planning and preparation workshops and a professional symposium that focuses on different facets of business education and practice. Upcoming events include: a Ted Talk presentation on “Eight Attributes of Successful People,” with follow up discussion; a feature film that focuses on a business profession (student discussion suggestions include the film “The Accountant”), and a “Student-Led World Economic Forum.”
Dunwoody Business: is dedicated to fostering interest in the fields of Business through guest speakers, volunteer activities and student-faculty interaction. Students from all fields of study are welcomed to join and participate. Events have included speakers from Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW-ATL), a seminar series on Entrepreneurship sponsored and conducted by the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE.org), and service projects focusing on holiday gifts for children. Upcoming events include a three-part seminar on the principles of Conscious Capitalism and interaction with Georgia State University Business faculty representatives to help our students plan a four-year path to success.
Online Business Club: The OBC provides materials, seminars and activities that contribute toward preparing students for the business world. It provides students with leadership and real-world business opportunities and promotes integration between online and on-campus clubs to promote community service and civic engagement.
Team Building
For more than five years, Georgia State University’s Perimeter College has promoted financial literacy on all of its campuses. Activities range from a full day devoted to presentations on the subject to appearances by guest speakers throughout a semester. The Business faculty invites established, successful entrepreneurs, judges, insurance agents, bankers, and technology experts from the community, which allows students to hear about struggles and stories of success. The program is interactive and provides students unparalleled access to industry professionals.

A: If you transfer from Perimeter College to another institution before graduation, the receiving institution will determine which courses are acceptable for a specific program. However, if you earn your associate degree at Perimeter College prior to transferring to another institution within the University System of Georgia, all the degree-related courses will be accepted.

About Us

The Department of Business Administration at Perimeter College provides learning opportunities on five campuses and online, bringing together a diverse and dynamic community of energetic student scholars and committed faculty.
Through the study of Business Administration, our students can explore economics, accounting, computer information and the value and role of business in today’s society. We also offer a Certificate in Insurance at the State Farm campus in Dunwoody.
