Research | Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship Program | The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship (MLEF) Program is a 10-week summer research internship for undergraduate and graduate students in STEM majors. Participants complete a cutting-edge research project at one of the Department’s National Laboratories or DOE Headquarters in support of the Department’s mission of limiting the environmental and climate impacts of fossil fuels and industrial processes while working to achieve net-zero emissions. | STEM | https://orise.orau.gov/mlef/applicants/default.html
Research | DOE Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management | The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) is seeking motivated students, postgraduates, and faculty to participate in projects at the forefront of the clean energy transition, helping to address the climate crisis through a 12-month fellowship with FECM. FECM plays an important role in providing solutions that address the climate crisis. This includes working to minimize the climate and environmental impacts of fossil energy and key industrial processes to help achieve net-zero emissions across the United States economy. The office works to achieve that mission in ways that benefit communities, provide high-wage jobs, and support domestic energy, industry, and manufacturing. The overall focus is to ensure the nation’s energy security, build sustainable supply chains, and significantly accelerate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions—all at the same time. | All Majors | https://www.zintellect.com/Opportunity/Details/DOE-STP-FECM-2024
Research | DOD Air Force Research Lab | The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars Program offers stipend-paid internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate-level university students pursuing STEM degrees, as well as upper-level high school students; select locations also offer internships to university students pursuing education-related degrees and K–12 professional educators.
