Overview
Launched in 1996 with a staff of one, Perimeter College’s Office of Grants Development and Administration was developed as an institutional resource for faculty and staff who wanted to seek grant funding from external funding agencies. Charged with managing sponsored awards in a multi-campus environment, the office has created an atmosphere of strong customer service by sharing its broad-based knowledge of federal and state agencies as well as actively supporting college initiatives.
Today, the Office of Grants Development and Administration, with its director, post-award administrator, pre-award administrator and administrative assistant, supports Perimeter College faculty, staff and administrators at all five campuses, providing services from proposal development through award close-out. The OGDA staff has a combined 56 years of experience in sponsored programs and more than 30 years of experience working in the University System of Georgia. As members of the National Council of University Research Administrators, the staff continually seeks learning opportunities to remain current in the field and shares its sponsored programs knowledge by presenting at regional and national conferences.
The staff is experienced at fostering a climate of collaboration. It is the strong involvement of the staff working with disciplines across the college that enables the office to be strategic in the pursuit of grant funding that meets the mission of the college and the needs within the departments and units. The office prides itself on its ability to assist the most novice of faculty or staff in the successful development, acquisition and implementation of external funding.
