Perimeter Faculty Brought Atlanta Science Festival Programs to Campus
Several Perimeter College science faculty hosted programs on Perimeter College Alpharetta, Decatur, Dunwoody and Clarkston campuses for the annual Atlanta Science Festival March 9-23. Perimeter College faculty have been involved in the ASF since its inception in 2014. Participating faculty included:

- Dr. Luise Strange de Soria: “Magical Milk: A Color Explosion”
- Dr. Vivian Mativo: “A Penny for Your Thoughts”
Perimeter Faculty Featured in Literary Festival
Dr. Monica Weatherly was the moderator for the “Revival: Lost Southern Voices” program on “Georgia Poet Laureate through the Years.” Weatherly also is a poet and the recipient of the 2023 Georgia Writers Association Georgia Author of the Year award. Other Perimeter English faculty moderating during the three-day event were Drs. Jennifer Colotosti and Andy Rogers. Drs. Kari Miller and Sarah Harrell also worked at the event. Retired English professors Ted Wadley, Rosemary Cox and Tim Tarkington presented on author Thomas Wolfe. The annual literary program was hosted by Georgia State Perimeter College and the Georgia Center for the Book and was coordinated by English professor Gina Flowers.
Policy Report on Book Banning
Dr. Tiffany Flowers, Education, is currently the chair of the Association for Literacy Educators and Researchers Legislative and Social Policy Committee. Recently, the group published a policy report on book banning across the United States. Read the article here.
