How To Apply For Aid

Completing the FAFSA
  1. To apply for financial aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal, state, some Perimeter College scholarships, as well as outside scholarships.  Do this right away: your financial aid cannot be processed until this step is complete.
  2. Complete the FAFSA even if you or your parents think you will not qualify for federal aid. You may be eligible for aid from other sources.
  3. It is faster and easier to apply online. You can download an instructional worksheet to help you complete your FAFSA online. Print a copy for your records.
  4. When you complete the FAFSA, list the correct school code based on your term of enrollment:
Semester FAFSA Year Federal School Code
    Spring 2016 or Summer 2016 2015-2016 001562
    Fall 2016, Spring 2017 or Summer 2017 2016-2017 001574

These worksheets and forms are also available at the Perimeter College Financial Aid offices on the Alpharetta Center,  Clarkston, Decatur, Dunwoody and Newton campuses.

*Please make sure you complete the correct FAFSA year and list the correct school code for your term of enrollment so that your FAFSA can be downloaded into our system. Visit the Student Information System online to check on the status of your application at least two weeks after applying for financial aid. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL registration to check on your financial aid status.
