International Admissions Requirements

For admission to a degree pathway at Perimeter College, the following items are required (click on the item for more information):

  • Perimeter College Application for Admission
  • $20.00 Application Fee (non-refundable)
  • Official high school documents at a recognized level of completion and accreditation.
  • For transfer applicants, official college or university transcript from each college or university attended
  • Proof of Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Status
  • Test Scores or Exemptions. Math and English test scores are required for admission to Perimeter College at Georgia State University. These requirements may be satisfied by meeting one of the following:
    • SAT Verbal/Critical Reading minimum 430 and Math minimum 400
    • ACT English minimum 17 and Math minimum 17
    • The Computer Adaptive Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS). English writing minimum 32, reading minimum 62, math/algebra minimum 20. Visit College Testing Services for the testing requirements for admissions.
    • APIBCLEPSAT and ACT scores submitted must be official scores. Information for requesting official scores or documentation may be found at the SATACTCLEPAP and IB websites. Please send official SAT scores (school code 5711) or ACT (school code 0806) to Perimeter College.
  • Proof of Language Proficiency Requirements. One of the following conditions must be met:
    • ENGL 1101 (English Composition) from a U.S. college or university awarded as transfer credit
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 523 (paper based) or 69 (internet-based testing) for direct placement in college-level English
    • Official Pearson score of 53
    • GSTEP band score of 5 with total score about 50 (each session minimum: Reading 18, Writing 20, Listening 11)
    • Official IELTS score of 6.0, or
    • Minimum SAT critical reading score of 430, or minimum ACT English score of 17, or
    • Completion of English Composition I course (grade “C” or better) at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Students who failed to meet the above English language requirement but meet one of the following will be admitted contingently upon ESL Compass placement test after arrival on campus
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 460 (paper-based) or 48 (internet-based testing)
    • Official IELTS score of 4.5
    • Minimum SAT critical reading score of 330
    • Minimum ACT English score of 12
    • GSTEP band score of 4

A note about test scores:

  • Official SAT and ACT test scores are required for admission for Dual Enrollment and homeschooled applicants.

Applicants to Georgia State University’s Perimeter College are classified as international applicants if they meet any of the following criteria:

  • Students who are currently in the U.S. on a non-immigrant visa (B-1, H-1, J-1, etc.).
  • Students who are currently living outside the U.S. and who will require an F-1 visa to study in the United States.
  • Students who are in the process of applying for Permanent Residency status, but have not yet received the Permanent Residency card.
  • Students who have been educated outside of the U.S.
